The above article was in my newspaper this morning. Nice, conspicuous
location on the back of the front page. Does France intend to go back to
the Inquisition? What is Chirac thinking? You can practice religion, just
go to America to do it.
Bigots means to be religious to the extreme... So when a governement and
it's populace are pushing separation of church and state, it's not called
bigotry.
For a better understanding of the concept of separation of church and
state, please check google for "Supreme Court Decision" this will list
what the US supreme court does for a living. Mostly enforcing separation
of Church and State by removing religious symbols from public buildings.
Both the US of A and France work on the same systems, although Common Law
is the system used in the USA while Civil Law is the one used in France.
But the issues are the same.
So in short, parading in the USA so that France stops it's separation of
church and state doctrine would be like Krutchev asking people to parade
in Moscow so that communism be stopped world wide.
If you are an American, I urge you to read the basic documents that can be
found on the subject of "separation of church and state"
