Yes I support the UK joining the Euro and the sooner there is a
referendum about it the better.

The UK standing up and saying "We are going to keep the Pound" is like
a conservationist having a sit down protest in front of a moving
steamroller.

Our future lies in Europe...with all those people we hate so much...
The French, The Germans, The Spanish who rip us off when we go on
holiday there, those boring Scandinavians, those terrible drivers the
Italians and those smiling dummies The Irish.

At least we'll all be in the same mess together, rather than going our
separate ways and making sure the rest of Europe stays poor whilst we
store away the pounds under the mattress and pretend to be poor if
anyone asks.

Ideas like the EURO only work when everyone who is supposed to benefit
are able to pull their weight. We owe a debt to Europe. It's about
time we started paying.

When the producer plays the tune , the consumer has to dance.
Easy.....the Euro zone is a gig load of consumers. Inflation is a problem,
alternitive currency is an asset

One year at a time? only our inflation?
Thank goodness I keep my euros in my pockets.

If that is your feeling about the rest of Europe maybe you should keep your
pound and remain an insignificant island unto yourselves.

is the one that is becoming insignificant.

I think recent events prove the contrary and it has barely started

I agree about a referendum, then we can tell our government that we do not
want the Euro.

We will see.

There is more in thi8s world than Europe, we may trade, with europe, but
there are other countries.
We can do ok, without Europe.

Why should we want to get in the same mess as other countries? at the end of
the day it is better to have a good econamy and get rich.

Oh no you cannot. I believe Europe represents something like 45% of UK
exports, you'll have a job finding replacement markets and if you do
they'll be with taxes, import duties and increased costs of
transport.

They owe you. How do you work that one out. Are you going to say that
you saved them during WWI and II, if so I suggest you hold back
because you'll be talking nonsense and are very likely to get flamed
to a cinder.

Nope. But asking the British population whether yes/no for the Euro,
by nothing else than a pure democratic referendum has nothing to do
with *I don't* want....Let the majority of the people to decide freely
such an important step.

Obviously your politicians....are considering the people as
idiots..unable to handle their own destiny. Poor attitude isn't it ?

Que? What is this debt that we owe to 'Europe'? When did it
arise, how much is it, and to what parts of the continent do
we owe it?

Be specific, and write on only one side of the screen at a atime.

But current popular opinion is against it, so a referendum would most likely
lead to a big no thanks.

That's a truely dreadful metaphor. The UK standing up and saying what it
believes is a by product of democracy, you might not agree with it but it
doesn't make either side right or wrong.
