"In the name of France and for my own personal part, I would like to
express my heartiest congratulations for your re-election.

It is in a spirit of dialogue, esteem and mutual respect that our
co-operation must continue to evolve, our common fight against
terrorism and the joint actions which we are engaged in to promote
liberty and democracy must continue to develop.

We can only find satisfactory solutions to the numerous challenges
with which we are confronted today through a close transatlantic
partnership."

Oh yeah? ROTFLMAO

sold to the Chinese to make cheap cars.
Un-pollution controlled of course.

"Holy fuck, I can't believe they re-elected the chimp"
although it was an anti-Bush remark, I did find it humorous :)

If Bush declares himself to be Gawd, then he might be covered by
Blunkett's new religious laws.

now be in jail.

I never really liked Chirac much. However when he decided to make a stand
against the USA all sins were forgiven and he became a national darling.
That is the legacy he will be remembered for.. the man who made the US go to
war without a UN mandate (And now we see he was 100% right).

History has a habit of making chimps of those who act for the popularity of
the moment and lack the vision of their peers.

History has repeatedly found the french to be chimps, if not worse.

I suspect Chiracs legacy will become clear in 50-100 years and I doubt
whether in any respect either domestic or international his deeds will
amount to much.
